Snoqualmie Lake and Deer Lake

Another view of Snoqualmie Lake, where I camped.

Oatmeal and hot chocolate are a great way to start a day of hiking.

Snoqualmie Lake, viewed from up high.

This is Deer Lake, another beautiful alpine lake just a short hike away from Snoqualmie Lake.

Rex and I relaxed and had a nice lunch on the shore of Deer Lake.

Spectacular falls along the Taylor River, in a tight canyon.

Otter Falls

Otter Falls, draining into Little Lipsy Lake.

Rex loved the falls, too.

A smaller, but very long and deep waterfall on Big Creek.

The Perfect Campsite!

I found a perfect campsite with a beautiful view.

This is the view looking out from my tent.  Imagine waking up to this each morning!

Sunsets were equally gorgeous.

Another view from my campsite.

Beautiful scenery everywhere.

Huge rockslides and twisted trees remind us of the awesome power of nature.

This is a waterfall on Big Creek.

Starting Out

Here we start the trail along the Little Taylor River.

Rex studies the topo map to plan our day's adventures.

Wild flowers and berries were abundant.

Trees grow everywhere, and in every direction.

Snoqualmie Falls

This is a quick and easy side trip we can take before or after the camping trip.  While this is not wilderness, the falls are nonetheless spectacular.
